Streamago is a mobile live-streaming platform enabling creators to broadcast, engage audiences, and monetize content through virtual gifting and private sessions. As Lead Product Designer & UX Researcher, I led end-to-end product discovery and experience design, defining the platform’s monetization model, core user journeys, and scalability across global markets.

Stage 1. User Research

Field studies in Luxembourg, Italy, Hungary and USA and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) across Europe were conducted, involving interviews, surveys, and prototype evaluations with creators and viewers.

Research objectives included:

  • Identifying what motivates creators to stream and how they prefer to monetize.

  • Understanding audience expectations for live interaction and virtual gifting.

  • Recognizing regional and cultural nuances across European, North American, and APAC markets.

A comprehensive benchmarking study was performed, analyzing key competitors such as Twitch, YouNow, and Bigo Live to assess feature differentiation and user experience standards.

Key findings:

  • Creators valued transparent monetization and simple setup flows.

  • Viewers favored interactive gifting and instant feedback mechanisms.

  • Clear payment and currency systems were essential to build user trust and engagement.

Insights directly informed the platform’s monetization architecture, trust-building mechanisms, and regional rollout strategy.

Stage 2. Ideation & Conceptualization

Led product definition workshops to align creator needs, audience engagement, and revenue models across key user journeys.

Key journeys included:

  • Creator onboarding and profile creation

  • Live streaming setup and management

  • Gift purchase and diamond transactions

  • Private session scheduling and payments

  • Viewer discovery and engagement flows

Multiple interaction models were explored to ensure a balance between simplicity, transparency, and creative flexibility.
Early concepts emphasized:

  • Frictionless onboarding and setup

  • Clear in-app economy structure

  • Category-based discovery and live event visibility

  • Cross-device continuity for live sessions

Stage 3: Design Execution

Designed end-to-end user journeys covering onboarding, live streaming, monetization, and private sessions. Prototypes validated navigation logic, payment clarity, and interaction patterns prior to development, reducing risk in conversion-critical flows.
